Put On Your Dancing Shoes!

We welcome London-based fashion blogger Laetitia Wajnapel (otherwise known as Mademoiselle Robot) to introduce our exciting #JanuaryShoes competition. Read on to be in with a chance of winning a £500 gift card towards a pair of new season shoes!

I have to confess something: while most my friends were busy writing up their new year’s resolutions and making endless lists of life improvements, I was mainly hatching up plans to showcase and expand my shoe collection. At the beginning of January, I started a little project on my Instagram (#MelleRobot) where I show a different pair of shoes from my ever growing collection each morning.

Of course, alongside this personal challenge, I owe it to myself - and my followers - to do some extra research. This led me to the new arrivals section here, on Flannels… The selection is directional while being extremely comprehensive and most of all, it includes some footwear labels that I have yet to add to my collection!

After years of clashing prints and mixing colours, I have now reached a state of sartorial serenity which involves a much more minimal silhouette. The only items that still echo my past as a bird of paradise are my shoes, and I will cling to that for a long time. I suppose my choices reflect that and I love nothing more than accessorising a very classic outfit with colourful or printed pumps.

On casual days, I would wear skinny jeans, a linen tee and cashmere jumper with Giuseppe Zanotti Leopard Print High Tops, for example. Or I could wear navy tracksuit inspired trousers, a chic blazer and the Dsquared Leopard Print Slingbacks. It’s all about leopard print, clearly.

In the evening, I generally opt for suits or tuxedos and heels, so these Dolce & Gabbana Printed Slingbacks or Jimmy Choo Typhoon Courts are just what the doctor ordered - just make sure the trousers are cropped, everyone needs to see the shoes!

As for my final choice, the Gucci Vernice Crystal Patent Sandals, I don’t know if I can express my love for them adequately without getting down on one knee and proposing to them. They are everything I ever dreamed of and will no doubt make themselves at home in my wardrobe in the near future.

Now, if you would like to expand your shoe collection to celebrate the new season or to help beat the January Blues, Flannels are offering one lucky person the chance to win a £500 gift card to treat themselves to a new pair of shoes. For your chance to win, head over to Facebook to enter and follow #JanuaryShoes across our social media channels.
