Back in June we announced the launch of an exciting exhibition at The Design Museum in London showcasing the influences and designs of one of Britain’s most iconic fashion designers: Paul Smith.
Now, with the unveiling of the exciting exhibit this Friday 15th November, we eagerly anticipate what is sure to be one of the most exciting fusions of the fashion and the art worlds this year.
Forced at the young age of 17 to abandon his hopes of becoming a professional racing cyclist after a severe accident, Paul found himself immersed in the world of art, music and fashion. A mere two years after his accident, he was managing his first boutique in Nottingham, eventually taking evening classes in tailoring to finally produce the clothing designs that he had envisioned.
The highly anticipated exhibition invites the spectator into the illustriously imaginative world of the acclaimed designer; showcasing his career to date, influences and hinting at future elements from the designer who has already given us a comprehensive catalogue of collections. Charting the rise of the iconic brand, the exhibition draws upon Paul’s personal archives to explore his ingenious approach to fashion design.
The exhibition will be at London’s Design Museum from 11th November 2013 until 9th March 2014. To purchase tickets, please see the below information:
