On Trend: Return Of The Heel

While some may have called the death of the high heel mid-way through our at-home lives last year, we knew it was only a matter of time before we were switching our house shoes for killer heels once more. Craving the feel of something more substantial beneath your feet? Make room for the hottest heels of the season from The Attico, Paris Texas, Gia Couture and more.

MINIMALIST

The ‘90s have been back in a big way this season and with its arrival comes a whole host of laidback footwear options. Firmly in the nude camp, Gia Couture’s Pernille Teisbaek collab features the Perni O3 Sandals, complete with a sporty two-strap fastening, ample padding and an on-trend square toe. Meanwhile, Paris Texas have provided the ideal heeled flip flop, and Tony Bianco have made a pair of white mules which will pair with just about anything in your wardrobe.

WRAP AROUND

Ribbons, strings, buckles… however you like to take your wrap-around sandals this season, designers have answered. Paris Texas have paired theirs with chunky block heels and mini kitten styles in their signature animal prints. Cult Gaia like things sky-high and wrapping the foot. And for Gia Couture, shoes are kept low-key with simple black lace-ups.

COLOUR-POP

Revenge heels have been the term on everyone’s lips this summer, and thanks to fashion’s new fondness for brights, drawing attention to our feet has never been easier. Tapping into the season’s biggest colour trends - hot pinks, zingy greens and lots of lilac - these four heels are just the place to start.

MULE

Named one of the hottest buys of the year, The Attico’s cult Devon mules have become the go-to shoe for the rich and famous this season thanks to their bright palette and sculptural silhouette. Hot on their heels are Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s sky-high Toe Ring Mule, as part of her collection with Gia Couture, and Guiseppe Zanotti’s wear-with-anything slick black design.
