WHAT WENT DOWN AT THE ASTROLOUBI LAUNCH
The sneaker, the DJs, the style, the guests: this is everything you need to know.

About last night… The ASTROLOUBI took FLANNELS X by storm.
To celebrate the launch of the new ASTROLOUBI sneaker by Christian Louboutin, we kicked off its London residency with an exclusive party at FLANNELS X. The space was transformed into a virtual basketball court with an immersive installation playing out on the screens. And the fashion set pulled up in full force to play courtside and celebrate the new ASTROLOUBI in all its glory. From the fits to the balls to the games, this is everything you need to know. It’s time to enter the world of the ASTROLOUBI.

Home to those red soles, iconic spikes and shoes that have a monopoly on fun; Christian Louboutin is one of the biggest names in luxury fashion. After more than thirty years in the business, the brand has become one of fashion’s most influential voices thanks to their instantly recognisable styles that set the agenda. Their latest venture? The ASTROLOUBI.

Inspired by ‘90s street style, hip-hop and basketball scenes, the new ASTROLOUBI sneaker is a contemporary take on classic style codes. In a range of ultra-loud, ultra-bright colourways (think: vivid reds, bold metallics and pops of purple), the low-top sneaker riffs off of the basketball sneaker; but with a refresh for 2023 and some signature Christian Louboutin detailing, of course.
Ultra-light, sporty and super soft, the ASTROLOUBI’s are designed to adapt to the contours of the foot. Ft. a varsity-inspired CL monogram, strong graphic lines and the brand’s signature spikes. The finishing touch? Red bottom soles, of course.

Taking over the ground floor of FLANNELS X, is the ASTROBLOUBI pop-up experience, open to all until the 14th of September. Ft. an innovative basketball court installation, including hoops, neon lights and Christian Louboutin-branded basketballs and vests, the entire collection of ASTROLOUBIs ready to shop.
For one night only, the basement became the ASTROLOUBI world. Think basketballs bouncing on 360-digital screens and neon-lights taking over the dancefloor. One of our favourite details? The grabber machine. Yes, you read that right: as part of the event, we set up a grabber machine, filled with Christian Louboutin basketball jerseys, giving players a chance to win and bringing that nostalgic ‘90s mood.

There are few places that you’ll get everyone out on a Wednesday night, dressed to the nines, in thirty-degree heat – but FLANNELS X is one of them. The fashion set came out in full force in next level fits, donning head-to-toe sequins, co-ordinating sets and ultra-loud looks from the likes of Burberry, Casablanca, Mugler, and of course, Christian Louboutin.
Tommy Gold and Taylah Elaine pulled up to centre court to DJ, with Elaine lasting Beyoncé’s Break My Soul, and Peggy Gou’s (It Goes Like) Nanana. She repped an all-Mugler look, complete with the brands cult spiral jeans and mesh body suits. And everyone was wearing the ASTROLOUBI’s, from musician Sainte to digital creator Sherlina to sneaker collector Jess Lawrence. Ghetts pulled up in a pair and styled them with one of Casablanca’s signature printed shirts.

The likes of Munya Chawawa, Digga D, The Bloom Twins and Vogue’s Donna Wallace were all in attendance and (naturally) serving looks. TikTok favourite Mimi Webb sported a Christian Louboutin baguette bag while Hannah Martin donned shimmering silver platforms and a white clutch bag.
