CHRISTMAS ’25:

THE ART OF GIFTING

Content Creator Danny Lomas, aka the hardest working man in the FLANNELS Grande Hotel this Christmas, shares the ultimate gift guide…

WORDS: DANNY LOMAS Photographer: jane doe

The season of giving has officially arrived, and in the spirit of the FLANNELS Christmas campaign, I’m tapping into the minds of my three alter egos working in the FLANNELS Grande Hotel - The Bell Boy, The Concierge and The Doorman - to bring you the ultimate FLANNELS gift guide.

Each character has their own particular flair, although being completely honest, any of these gifts would be on my actual Christmas list (I know you're reading this mum). The Bell Boy will be covering your go-to last-minute lifesavers - the easy, thoughtful finds that look anything but last minute. The Concierge, where I’ll be spreading my wings and really choosing the finest of what FLANNELS has to offer. And the Doorman? He’s the master of the final flourish, curating those finishing touches that bring the outfit together.

Together, they’ve (I’ve) handpicked 24 pieces - 12 for him, 12 for her - that capture the spirit of the season: generous, glamorous and distinctly FLANNELS.

Whether you’re shopping for someone special or simply spoiling yourself (no judgement here), consider this your go to guide to Christmas done right.

THE BELL BOY

Running late? Relax - I’ve got your back. The king of calm under Christmas pressure, ice cool in these icy temps, here to turn panic into presents. The gifts that say: “I thought this through,” even if you wrapped them five minutes ago.

Starting with the guaranteed crowd-pleasers: everyone loves a designer candle or, of course, a gift card for that cousin who appears every Christmas (I don't even know if we’re officially related) who changes their style more than the English weather.

For the lads, think elevated basics - a solid cap, sleek grooming kit, or statement socks that will last him until next December. For the ladies, try a silk sleep mask, a Flat Lay make up bag, or a set of mini Maison Francis Kurkdjian fragrances to give the gift of choice, they’ll be forever in your debt if their new everyday fragrance comes from your gift.

Because the truth is, “last minute” doesn’t have to look like it. With a little help from The Bell Boy, every emergency gift feels intentional.

THE CONCIERGE

For the concierge, gifting is an art - and my speciality is the grand gesture. I’m talking timeless luxury, the pieces that make the recipient gasp before the paper’s even fully off. That feeling of opening your first games console as a seven-year-old.

Whether you’re indulging your partner, your parents, or yourself (the best kind of recipient), these gifts are the main event.

For him, a lovely new knit or a luxury leather weekend bag sets the tone for a sophisticated season. Add a designer watch or a scent he’s had his eyes (and nose) on for the last few months, when he’s forever spraying the sample, but never splashes the cash.

For her, think pure indulgence: a silk shirt, a posh perfume, or a Bottega Veneta handbag to make her friends forgive the time you skipped her birthday to watch Sunday league football. For the ultimate touch (that you can steal) transform her bathtimes into a spa with premium skincare and body treats that rival any five-star retreat.

Every great look deserves the perfect finishing touch, and here's where I come in. These are the gifts that everyone lusts after but forgets to buy themself, the final ‘je ne sais quoi’ that can turn that 10/10 outfit to a 11/10.

This Christmas, my selects focus on timeless accessories. For him, it’s all in the details: buttery leather gloves, a sleek scarf, or a belt that subtly elevates every outfit. Add a statement coat for that red carpet swagger.

For her, it’s jewellery that shimmers in the light, a silk scarf that ties a look together, and a pair of sunglasses to block the low winter sun (and hide the hangover of the season's festivities). Finish with a pair of chic flats for when she inevitably complains about her feet hurting from her heels.

Because what’s a Christmas tree without the angel on top?

So, there you have it: three personalities, 24 perfect presents and endless festive cheer. Whether you’re shopping for a last-minute surprise, an unforgettable statement piece, or that all-important finishing touch, FLANNELS has every style, taste and price point covered.

I hope this has helped make that special day a little more special; just wrap them up, write the card and take the credit. And of course…

Have a wonderful Christmas!
