On Trend: Home Comforts

Call it the 2020 effect, but fashion's new fondness for all things comfort means that loungewear pieces have seeped into every corner of our wardrobes. From the statement sweatshirts of Off-White and Dsquared2 to the slickest of sweatpants from Billionaire Boys Club and LA's hottest export, Casablanca, these are the comfier than thou pieces we can get on board with this winter.

A sure-fire essential when you're posted up at home: the trusty sweatshirt or hoodie. Throw it over your pyjamas first thing in the morning and people may believe that you've actually gotten dressed for Zoom dates, or chuck one on when you pop out to the shops. Invest in statement pieces, like Off-White's artistically-inclined designs, Dsquared2's ticker tape style zip up, and Billionaire Boys Club's soft grey hoodie.

Ah, the trusty sweatpant, jogger, trackpant... a rose has many names. But the thing that separates these from your standard bit of fleeced trousers is in the luxurious details. Top of your loafing list should be a pair of Casablanca's green velvet pants, Billionaire Boys Club's slightly more pared-back cotton sweats and FLANNELS' exclusive Dsquared2 black joggers with just the right amount of detail, courtesy of the brand's signature logo that runs along the seams. Last, but by no means least, Stone Island has crafted the perfect pair to take you from sofa to street.

We all love a good pair of slippers, but you don't always want to organise Excel spreadsheets wearing the gift-set slippers you got at Christmas. So that's why you should keep a pair of sliders on deck. Take your pick from the Ikea-inspired madness of Off-White's design below, or the pared-down (yet beautifully oversized) option from Alexander McQueen. It's up to you whether to rock socks with these, but just know that unfashionable dads everywhere feel validated if you do.

The best place to go full dadcore (remember that?) is definitely at home, with the help of Gucci and Off-White. If you want to push the envelope and coat your feet in something more out there, opt for Balmain's opulence or Vetements and Reebok's hype-heavy collaboration.
