Fresh from the streets of fashion’s biggest shows, the FLANNELS Paparazzi have snapped up the hottest styles from the street. And in 2024, the streetwear set are having fun with their fits. From large and loose silhouette to new gen tailoring, street style is serving up playful, unique looks. Think wardrobe staples via Gucci, statement pieces from Marni and tailored pieces from Craig Green. These are the street-style trends to know. Word of warning? Purchase, fast.

LARGE AND LOOSE

Big and baggy, larger than life silhouettes are the street style sets new favourite sartorial rule. A statement, oversized look has the uncanny ability to a) look really good while b) feeling endlessly edgy, cool and effortless. So, how do you make it work for SS24? You’ve got to start with jorts. Yes, really. The most fashionable people you know are wearing the humble, baggy jean short and now even Bottega Veneta are delivering takes on the trend. Stay on theme with Acne Studio’s oversized denim shirt, wear a grungy, colour-pop button down underneath and finish things off with a pair of chunky boots. The ‘90s will never die.

THE ALL LEATHER CO-ORD

For SS24 the street style set is serving up tailoring, with a twist. Traditional blazers have been cut from bulky, quilted fabrics, stitched with pops of colour, and feature flared silhouettes. Classic button downs are stitched with an asymmetric opening. Suit trousers are erring on the side of oversized. It’s time to throw out your sartorial rule book and really have fun with things. So: how do you do it? Start with Craig Green’s Quilted jacket, layer over Jacquemus’ Asymmetric blue button down and throw on Bottega Veneta’s oversized Silk Suit Trousers. Easy.

THE STATEMENT KNIT

There are few items more powerful than a statement knit. A favourite of street style heavy weights like Tyler, The Creator, Harry Style, and A$AP Rocky, a colour-pop piece of statement knitwear can instantly breathe new life into an outfit, while simultaneously tapping into to the eclectic grandpa trend. So, it’s hardly surprising that the statement knit was one of the hottest trends to come from the street style set this season. Wondering how to do it for SS24? Opt for Marni’s big energy Mohair Jumper in sunshine yellow and layer over sleek tailored pieces from Dolce & Gabbana. Finish with a pair of box-fresh kicks from Bottega Veneta and you’re winning at the street style game. Well done you.

KEEP IT CLASSIC

Over the past few seasons, the fashion world has developed a newfound appreciation for the wardrobe staple. And that mood is continuing into SS24. Spurred on by the rise of quiet luxury, we’re all looking to simple, classic pieces we know we’ll be reaching for season after season. And the street style set were more than feeling this mood. For SS24, we’re living for a classic camel overcoat from Gucci, a simple white tank top from Saint Laurent, timeless true-blue denim via Givenchy and expertly crafted black leather accessories via Valentino Garavani and Prada. Who knew looking good could be so easy?
