4 OUTFITS FOR A SUMMER WEDDING

From elevated streetwear looks to new-gen classics, this is what to wear to a summer wedding, c/o Fear of God, Casablanca, Gucci and more.

WORDS: HANNAH DUNN + MARNI ROSE MCFALL

Wedding incoming? We’ve got you covered. Gone are the days of bland suits, boring fits and ill-fitting tuxes because in 2024 we’re taking wedding guest outfits to a whole new level. The FLANNELS way. And no matter what kind of do you’re heading to; we’ve got a perfect look to match. Heading to a slick city affair? There’s a look for that. Off to an old school do? We’ve got that covered too. No matter the dress code, all that matters is you do it in style. And as far as we’re concerned? The bigger the look, the better. From elevated streetwear looks to new-gen classics, this is what to wear to a summer wedding, c/o Fear of God, Casablanca, Gucci and more.

1. THE DESTINATION WEDDING

Heading to a destination beach wedding? You lucky thing. If you’re off to a wedding that’s shirking all tradition, then your look needs to fit the vibe. Which is where this Casablanca silk co-ord comes in. Adorned with blown-up jewels and in envy-inducing shades of green, it was made for an all-night party on the sand. Pair with Dolce&Gabbana’s chunky ‘Square Toe Loafers’ and, of course, a pair of statement sunglasses. We’re into these grey-toned ones from Ami Paris.

Beige blazer, black trousers, white shirt, Saint Laurent black loafers

2. THE SLICK CITY DO

If you’re heading to a slick city wedding, then it goes without saying that the outfit needs to be next level. Enter Fear of God. Their ‘Heavy Twill California Blazer’ is a slouchier, cooler, looser take on the classic blazer. Pair with a loose-fit shirt, tailored trousers and Saint Laurent’s ‘Le Loafer Penny Slippers’ which are working hard to stand out in a sea of loafers this season. To keep your important things close? You’ll want Bottega Veneta's ‘Cassette’ bag.

3. THE TRAD AFFAIR

Big white wedding on the cards? We recommend keeping it classic. And we’re doing it with the masters of Italian luxury; Gucci. When it comes to tailoring, it doesn’t get better than this. Start with a classic grey suit, layer it over a fresh white shirt and with a GG logo tie. To finish? Slip into a pair of Gucci’s ‘Buckle Loafers’ and take things up a notch with a dab of Gucci Guilty for Him.

4. THE CASUAL INVITE

In 2024, weddings as we know them are changing. As couples throw tradition out the window, they’re opting for less formal affairs that feel more, well, them. For those more laidback weddings, go for lighter hues and looser shapes. Ami Paris has a series of short-sleeved shirts that work perfectly in the heat. For the bottom of your look, go for Bottega Veneta’s Pleated Trousers in a shade of pale grey and add Christian Louboutin’s ‘Varisboat’ shoes in a beige suede. As for the scent? It could only be Maison Margiela Paris Replica’s easy breezy Sailing Day.
