Listening to live music (yes, we mean Oasis). Lazing in the park on a sweltering hot summer’s day. Perhaps hitting a few balls back and forth at the tennis court. However you choose to spend your downtime this summer, we’ve got your outfits sorted.
This is FLANNELS 3-Ways, your new styling best friend, where we break down three ways to get dressed for three different occasions. This time? Your summer downtime; those moments in between the madness when you finally have a chance to just be.
From gigs and festivals to playing sport and taking a moment to relax and recharge, this is how to get dressed for those low-key summer moments.

ICYMI… this summer, everyone’s favourite brothers are reuniting for the biggest musical moment of the year: the Oasis tour. Playing 19 gigs across the UK and Ireland this summer, the pair’s surprise announcement last year kickstarted a Britpop revival across the world of fashion. And, whilst creator Danny Lomas may have warned us, we shouldn’t play into the stereotype too strongly, frankly, we can’t resist. So, if you’ve bagged a golden ticket to see the duo play, this is what you’re going to want to wear…
Loose-fit, light-wash denim. Checked shirts. adidas sneakers. A Stone Island jacket (of course). And, if you’re feeling extra nostalgic, you may even want to throw on a bucket hat for old times’ sake.

If football is the beautiful game, then tennis is the stylish one. Forever a source of fashion inspiration, tennis style – on and off the court – is hitting all the right notes this year. Call it the Jack Draper effect, but we’re looking to sharpen up our game, and the pieces to do it with? Casablanca’s matching Wimbledon-inspired tennis whites and a pair of chunky, ’90s-coded trainers c/o Asics. A winning look if ever we saw one.

When the heat hits, you’ll want to retreat to open waters and swathes of greenery. Parks are an essential park of British summer culture. But what to wear whilst you’re there? Baggy shorts, tank tops and low-profile sneakers. You’ll also want a big tote bag to stuff all your essentials in – books, suncream, snacks – and a light layer for when the temperature inevitably drops after sunset. And relax.
