HOW TO STAY WARM THIS WINTER

Festive errand runs, country escapes, wintry special occasions: three men’s content creators share how they’re keeping warm this winter.

As the days grow shorter and the temperature continues its steady drop, pulling together a standout outfit becomes its own kind of daily battle. When most of your morning energy is spent simply staying warm on the journey from bed to office, it’s no surprise that fashion can slip down the priority list. But it doesn’t have to.

The age-old question persists: how do you dress for the cold without sacrificing style? Influencers Ayomi Odukoya, Matt Ballie and Freddie Long have found the formula. Each briefed with own specific winter scenario, here’s how they’ll be navigating cold weather this year in investment outerwear and timeless accessories from Burberry, Stone Island and more.

MAN ABOUT TOWN: AYOMI ODUKOYA

Be it for last-minute Christmas shopping or otherwise, this time of year inevitably involves more than one trip into your local town or city centre. The mood is hectic, crowded and overstimulating; and you’ll be dipping in and out of hot and cold temperatures as you navigate the shops in as little time as possible.

What’s required here is a practical, fuss-free outfit that allows you to focus on the task at hand. No bulky outerwear with endless fastenings – it needs to be effortlessly slipped off and on as required. To nail this brief, Ayomi’s gone for a Stone Island look that's:

'Texture with intention. The jacket carries warmth without losing shape, so it holds up across winter city days. Easy movement, clean lines, still looks put together.”

A COUNTRY ESCAPE: FREDDIE LONG

What about whenever those festive missions into town are finally (and successfully) completed? The best way to recharge your energy is with fresh country air. For a weekend rural escape, Freddie is structuring the outfit he’ll be packing around on key piece: a Burberry puffer.

‘For me, the standout thing about the checked Burberry puffer was that it’s reversible. I love pieces that give you room to play, and this one lets you lean into a bold statement or keep things understated depending on the mood. I’m always mixing patterns and colour in a way that still feels effortless, and this jacket slips into that perfectly. It’s easy to dress up, easy to dress down, and for a weekend in the countryside it gives you that balance of practicality and personality.’

FIX UP, LOOK SHARP: MATT BALLIE

As the weather gets colder, it can inevitably feel like your social calendar is only heating up. This is the season of endless events, and of hopping between different venues and locations – usually in below zero temperatures.

Let’s not overcomplicate it. All that’s needed to see you through party season is a go-to uniform that’s both elevated enough for formal occasions and warm enough to ward off the chill on long nights. For Matt, this look is the perfect balance of form and function:

'The wide lapels on the coat are the perfect overlayer for a suit, and the scarf bodes well for when fashion and function are required to collide… in other words, it’s flipping cold at the moment.'
