On Trend: Get To Know These new Brands

The menswear market is currently bursting with fresh design talent like never before. And with our wardrobes crying out for post-pandemic newness, we’re keener than ever to show off our new threads. From Craig Green to Daily Paper and A-COLD-WALL, these just dropped brands are the place to start. Consider this an informal introduction.

Since founding his namesake brand, the London native has developed something of a cult following. With collabs with outerwear brand Moncler and sports heavyweight Adidas under his belt, his impact on streetwear has been second to none. Mixing knit and crochet with modern tech, his garments are the dream marriage of contemporary innovation and traditional practice. Top of our wish list? Laced vests, sweatpants and quilted bags.

Shepard Fairey’s instantly recognisable ‘Andre the Giant’ face motif has been plastered over just about everything. Sound familiar? The artist’s ideology blends skate culture with DIY and punk rock, using sarcasm and propaganda to comment on society. With influences from the military and workwear, the result has been a clever streetwear brand that constantly serves up the goods. This season, Obey’s vast array of prints are getting attention. First up, their floral Evens Shirt and Bandana Tote.

An LVMH prize winner, an ex-assistant to Off-White’s Virgil Abloh… it’s no surprise that Samuel Ross is one of the hottest menswear designers of the moment. Combining Saville Row style tailoring with elements of working-class uniforms, this brand is doing clever things. Ross’ attention is in the details, perfecting each piece by hand. The result is a pleasing neutral colour palette with unique prints and minimal logos. Right now, we’ve got our eye on the Projection Shirt – the dream transitional piece – and the Asymmetric Tailored Trousers when temperatures drop.
