WHAT TO WEAR TO SEE:
Cowboy hats, chrome, feathers: at the RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR the BeyHive delivered. Now, they’re inspiring our cinema looks.
Over the past year, the big screen has once again become a main event. This summer, fans decked themselves out in shades of pink for Barbie. And now? Beyoncé’s BeyHive are driving a new host of looks as RENAISSANCE: A FILM BY BEYONCÉ hits the big screen.
To celebrate the film’s release until 17.12.23, The RENAISSANCE Flagship has returned to FLANNELS X, Oxford Street, London, where you can get your hands on the exclusive 16-piece collection, including two FLANNELS-only t-shirts, meet the iconic mirrored horse Reneigh, who graced both the RENAISSANCE album cover and RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR stage, and immerse yourself into the RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR via 360-digital screens.
For the first time, The RENAISSANCE Flagship lands beyond FLANNELS X with regional pop ups in Sheffield, Meadowhall (until 17.12.23), Liverpool (until 17.12.23) and Belfast (14.12.23-23.12.23).
To inspire our cinema looks, we’ve taken a look back at the summer of RENAISSANCE and the killer looks that dominated the dance floor. From head-to-toe shine and all-out pink to big nods to the BeyHive itself, this is how we’re dressing for RENAISSANCE: A FILM BY BEYONCÉ.
When Beyoncé asked her fans to don their best chrome outfits, she started a frenzy which has continued long into the 2023 party season. "Virgo season is upon us. This tour has been such a joy and as we approach the last month, my birthday wish is to celebrate with you wearing your most fabulous silver fashions to the show 8.23 – 9.22," she wrote on her Instagram Stories. "We'll surround ourselves in a shimmering human disco ball each night. Everybody mirroring each other's joy, Virgo season together in the House of Chrome. See you there!"
Chrome became synonymous with the RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR and its influence has been felt heavily in cinemas since the film hit. How to incorporate it into your look? Touches of chrome - in the shape of bags, hats and glasses – shimmering fabrics, silver jewellery and glitter embellishments will all do the trick.
Beyoncé herself took to the stage in yellow and black looks that honoured her title of Queen Bey. The ultimate tribute to her BeyHive, she wore a custom Dolce & Gabbana black and yellow bodysuit, complete with long black gloves and bee-inspired sunglasses. While her Mugler bee-look has inspired one of the most iconic pieces of the RENAISSANCE: A FILM BY BEYONCÉ collection, the ‘BZZZZBITCH T-SHIRT’ (available at FLANNELS).
The BeyHive followed suit on tour with iconic combos, from black and yellow tops mixed with bug-shaped glasses and leather pieces to black-and-yellow custom catsuits. To try it yourself, layer up a piece from the RENAISSANCE: A FILM BY BEYONCÉ collection with yellow accents; think dresses, trousers and bags. And finish with outrageously OTT shoes.
Pink has been one of the biggest hues of the past two years, so it’s no surprise that big pink looks featured heavily in the BeyHive’s RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR looks. Worn top to toe and mixed with feathers, ruffles and the tour’s signature chrome pieces, it makes an instant statement.
Beyoncé herself took to the stage in an array of hot pink looks, from her own label IVY PARK and a custom Acne Studios metallic pink set to a dazzling Gucci corset covered with crystals and a glittering Valentino body suit, complete with thigh-hit boots and feather-adorned sunglasses.
