STYLE NOTES:
Summer prep, classic black dresses and the ultimate statement-making accessories: this is how to get dressed this summer according to our favourite fashion content creators.
Still have a summer holiday on the horizon but yet to decide what clothes to pack for your trip? You’ve come to the right place. We’ve turned to a few of our favourite fashion content creators to handpick the key summer pieces to take away.
From chic and preppy styles fuelled heavily by Miu Miu to a classic black dress that proves dark hues work all year long and – perhaps the easiest of pieces to pack – statement accessories that can instantly up the ante of any look, this is what to wear for your late summer holiday and beyond, thanks to Katelan Pell, Emma Rose Thatcher and Alicia Roddy.
Summer isn’t over until we say it is.
A fit that serves chic, preppy elegance with a playful twist. The standout piece being the Miu Miu polo dress, giving off vintage tennis-club vibes. Paired with charcoal socks and classic black-and-white loafers, the look strikes a perfect balance between youthful charm and polished sophistication. Kept casual for a summer's daytime with the Miu Miu baseball cap.
A black dress is one of my summer essentials, and I always bring my favourite of the season when I travel. This one from St Agni - another beautifully simple Australian brand - ticks all the boxes. It’s minimal, elegant, and can work for just about anything while you’re away. I wore it to wander around the village in Deia, paired with simple sandals and my Dragon Diffusion basket bag, which comes with me on every trip. It’s big enough for all the essentials and neutral enough to work with everything. I tend to stick to a consistent colour palette when I pack- it just makes life easier and means everything mixes and matches effortlessly. Plus, it leaves space in the suitcase for local finds!
Accessories make an outfit - I’m all about the accessories. I love gold jewellery and sunglasses and these Gucci sunglasses pair so well with my gold rings. They really add to a look as they’re quite the statement piece. I’d pair them with a simple vest or tee to let the glasses be the staple piece.
Ballet flats are my go-to footwear of choice this summer. I'm yet to find an outfit that ballet flats don’t go well with - tracksuits, dresses, smart trousers - they pair well with everything! I’d style the crochet Miu Miu Knit Ballerinas with capri pants for an afternoon or early-evening look.
