July 2025 might be one of the hottest on record. Not just for the relentless heatwave that’s hit the UK, but also for the return of Wimbledon, the Euros, and the one we’ve all been waiting for: Oasis.
But what to wear for all these hot and heavy summer plans?
This is FLANNELS 3-Ways, your new styling best friend, where we break down three ways to get dressed for three different occasions. This time? Your summer downtime; those moments in between the madness when you finally have a chance to just be.
From live music and day festivals to hitting a few balls at the tennis court and – our favourite pastime – doing absolutely nothing in the sunshine, this is how to nail off-duty summer style.
BRITPOP IS BACK
Managed to bag the ticket of the summer? Aka the long-awaited Oasis reunion. You’ll want a look that nods to Britpop ‘90s nostalgia but feels very 2025. Cue low-profile sneakers c/o Miu Miu, windbreakers by Burberry and band-style logo tees from Prada. Add a midi-length pleated skirt – we love Prada’s iteration which comes with one of the brand’s trending suspended belts that had everyone talking at the SS25 shows earlier this year.
To finish things off, go for a black leather shoulder bag, cute bag charms - the Robby one from Prada comes with its own miniature bucket hat (the ultimate nod to Britpop) - and oval sunglasses that give just the right nod to those John Lennon-inspired sunglasses the Gallagher brothers loved.
ON YOUR A GAME
Red and grey might just be the best sporting colour combination - think Rocky Balboa pounding the pavements in his iconic tracksuit and headband. This summer, it’s Anine Bing who is serving up the goods with their short and sweater set. Finish with a red hat and oversized canvas tote via Varley and a pair of adidas's bestselling SL72 trainers. A winning look if ever we saw it.

Like your weekends on the quieter side? Head to the park, find some shade and crack the spine of summer’s hottest new read. The pieces to do it with?
