Newsflash: autumn is just around the corner. And as a new season approaches, the weather tends to get erratic and unhinged. Enter: the trans-seasonal staples. Think the key buys that’ll take you from one season to the next in one easy more. Because you can’t predict the weather, but you can look damn good trying. On the agenda this year? Think underwear as outerwear, statement denim and all-out leather. This is trans-seasonal dressing, the new luxury way according to Miu Miu, Off-White, Givenchy and more.

Thought the shift in weather would quash our appetite for almost naked looks? You thought wrong. This season, we’re staying on theme and wearing our underwear as outerwear. The way to do it? Opt for bulky boxer shorts by way of Tom Ford, pair with a teeny tiny bralette c/o Miu Miu and throw on an oversized blazer (it’s getting chilly after all). Finish things off with a pair of statement knee-highs and a little black bag that goes big on ‘90s energy.

As we move into the cooler months, we’re keeping waistlines low and going in on Y2K appeal. The key pieces? An ultra-cropped top and a pair of low-slung cargos. Think ‘00s appeal with a contemporary streetwear refresh. Sound good? We thought so. Opt for Off-White’s Tie Dye Top and the brand's cult Toybox cargo pants. In a soft neutral white, the Toybox trousers have mastered the art of making a statement while seamlessly pairing with everything in your wardrobe. Pair with the signature Out Of Office Sneaker and a little white cross-body bag.

Statement making denim? We’re listening. After a host of runway shows where the material was reimagined and reinterpreted over and over, for 2023, we’re doing denim a little differently. Starting with? This double denim look. This season, the Canadian Tux is looking a little different as we’re opting for denim bralettes paired with low-slung, ripped jeans, and this combo is the way to do it. Pair with Coperni’s Cut-Out Blazer and a little white bag from Givenchy: the icy white tones are a) easy to style and b) work perfectly with the baby blues. On your feet? Denim heels, obviously.

Okay ladies, start your engines. The change in season means we’re bringing some familiar favourites back into our wardrobe rotation. Think head-to-toe black, big boots and all-out grunge appeal. Autumn style, my how we’ve missed you. The way to do it this season? Start with this Saint Laurent Leather Blazer. A real fash-pack favourite, it goes big on the brand's classic femme-meets-masc appeal. Wear with Prada’s ultra mini leather skirt and a pair of chunky Monolith Chelsea boots, and finish things off with some heavy metal hitters c/o Paco Rabanne’s gold Nano chainmail bag, and Saint Laurent’s silver earrings.
