24 HOURS WITH:
Late-night workouts, beauty routines and the women that inspire her: the fashion and beauty influencer shares a day in her life.
One of the OG content creators, Victoria Magrath, aka the once named ‘In The Frow’, has become one of the most loved fashion and beauty influencers of the last decade.
With a PhD in fashion marketing, Magrath started her career as a fashion lecturer, but these days she spends her days juggling the worlds of TikTok, YouTube and Instagram. In 2018, she wrote a book. In 2022, she fronted Viktor & Rolf’s Flowerbomb Christmas campaign. And in 2023? We’re predicting big things.
From brand meetings and fittings to presentations and content creation, Magrath is a multitasker. From her skincare and makeup routines to the joy of a late-night workout, Victoria Magrath shares a day in her life.
My husband brings me a coffee in bed every morning, which signals the start of my day.
My alarm goes off between 7-7:30am. I sneak a coffee in bed and a cuddle with my puppy before sitting down to clear my inbox, before chatting with my team about my commitments for the day ahead.
My biggest motivation is the inspirational women that surround me daily…
… not only from the influencer community but the wonderful women that make up my team and my brilliantly supportive friends and family.
Rosie Huntington-Whitely, Victoria Beckham, Anine Bing, Em Rata are huge sources of inspiration to me.
They are all working on such exciting projects and managing to spin a million plates with complete grace.
TO ME, BEAUTY IS HAPPINESS AND CONFIDENCE IN ONESELF
My official title is Doctor Victoria Magrath.
I have a PHD in Consumer Marketing, specific to the Fashion Industry. My first days in the Fashion Industry were as a lecturer at the University of Manchester.
Breakfast consists of a cherry and cashew butter smoothie.
Lunch is dependent on what the day holds, if I am in London meeting brands or PR’s, I’ll opt for a crab and avocado on toast.
I typically shoot 1-2 pieces of content a day…
… which means running through my skincare routine, applying my makeup or choosing the day’s look on camera.
I cleanse my skin morning and night…
… using the Dior La Mousse Off/On Foaming Cleanser. I follow with an acid toner; my current favourite is Omorovicza’s Silver Skin Tonic. I’ll awaken my eyes with the La Mer The Eye Concentrate and add hydration to my skin with Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Cream for a glowy, radiant finish. For SPF, I apply a layer of the Omorovicza Mineral UV Shield SPF30. On days where my skin feels drier, I will use a touch of La Mer The Renewal Oil before applying my complexion products.
The contents of my makeup bag are ever-evolving.
On a day-to-day basis, I reach for the Dior Forever Natural Nude Foundation, a touch of the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Concealer, a coat of Lancôme Hypnose Mascara, Patrick Ta Brow Gel to tame, lip liner to define and a lip balm to hydrate with a splash of bronzer for a fresh look. My go to is the Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate Highlighting Duo.
I couldn’t live without my La Mer The Lip Balm…
… it’s never far from reach. You’ll find one in every handbag, drawer and pocket I possess.
The way I feel inspires my style daily.
Clothes have an innate ability to change your mood or lean into your status. If I’m run down and needing to take the day a little slower; a cashmere jumper, comfortable pants and a pair of cosy socks set me on the path to a relaxed mind. If I have an important meeting in the diary and confidence is key, a killer blazer or power suit is the key to success. If I’m at meetings, I’ll pair my Stella McCartney Faux Leather Pants (I love them so much I have bought multiple pairs) with a bodysuit, the Toteme Double Breasted Vent Blazer and my favourite Max Mara coat, draped across the shoulders.
I was incredibly proud to be the face of Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb for their 2022 Christmas campaign.
Seeing my face in stores across the world, Vogue magazine and on billboards in Times Square was a dream come true for a girl from Wigan who bought her first bottle of the fragrance at 16 years of age.
CREATE YOUR OWN PATH AND BE KIND, CONSCIOUS AND CONSIDERATE AS YOU WALK IT
I like to stay connected to the brands that I am working with…
…. so will often meet brand owners, PRs or marketing teams for lunch meetings or presentations where I can learn about the latest innovations. Once home, I tackle the latest influx of emails to reach my inbox. Dinner is served and I settle down to whatever Netflix series I am currently binge watching.
Dinner is my husband’s department…
… we eat a lot of soups and pasta, but my personal speciality is a vegetarian toad in the hole or crab linguine. I have mastered the art of the perfect Yorkshire pud - a northern girl’s rite of passage.
My Sunday ritual is to take a long bubble bath and relax with a facemask…
… 111 Skin and Sarah Chapman have some gorgeous options.
I’m a night owl when it comes to exercise.
You’ll often find me on my Peloton at 9pm in the evening, singing Miley Cyrus at the top of my lungs whilst trying to beat my personal best. Somewhat bizarrely my means of switching off is to head to the bike for a high impact workout…whatever works, eh.
My evening skincare routine has similar steps to the morning, only with a more evening-appropriate line-up.
The cleanser and toner stay the same, but the eye cream is swapped out to the La Mer Eye Balm as it is a touch more intense. I’ll moisturise with an evening cream such as the Dr Barbara Sturm Clarifying Face Cream, which contains no SPF, a touch of La Mer Lip Balm to finish to hydrate and I am ready for bed.
My daily mantra is…
… create your own path and be kind, conscious and considerate as you walk it.
