24 HOURS WITH:
Movement, creativity, self-expression: Kane Horn is at the top of his game.
He’s travelled the world and performed with some of the biggest artists in the business, from dancing alongside Dua Lipa on her ultra-viral Future Nostalgia tour and starring in the video for Physical to touring with the likes of the Spice Girls and Little Mix. Kane also works as a movement coach for Pause Online, applying movement to editorial shoots as well as choreographing music videos alongside fellow artist, Parallel.
To celebrate the launch of lululemon at FLANNELS, Kane took us on a day in his life. From practicing gratitude to his biggest role models and looking for inspiration everywhere, it’s time to get to know Kane.
The first thing I do when I wake up is…
… take a few deep breaths and just say thank you: for waking up to see another day. Basically, just practicing gratitude.
My biggest motivation is my family.
My family and my circle, the dreams, and the things I’m trying to work towards. Just trying to be a better person every day, be a better version of myself every day.
I have a lot of different role models.
My biggest role model is my dad. And then I have my classics, like Thierry Henry, he was my footballing hero when I was growing up. Creatively across dance, it’s people that are doing things that I aspire to. There’s a choreographer I’ve worked with called Charm La’Donna, she’s choreographed for the Superbowl, Kendrick Lamar and Dua Lipa. She’s super young and inspiring in terms of the way she’s navigated her career.
On a typical morning…
… I’ll have a coffee, check my emails then I’ll get ready, bike to the gym, and probably work out for about 45 minutes. Then, I’ll take a little twenty minutes, half an hour to chill and then I’ll be heading to a rehearsal or dance studio of some sort. Whether that’s teaching or choreographing or rehearsing for a show, I’m usually spending at least three to four days a week in some sort of rehearsal space or studio.
I’m a midday mover.
It’s when I get the day going. I always set the intention to go really early but I try not to put too much pressure on myself because my work varies quite a lot.
I try to utilise different types of energy in different ways.
Biking for me, that’s casual, that’s leisure. Dancing a lot of the time is my work. So, my exercise time in the gym, and calisthenics is my time to myself. My training aside from dance, I’d describe it as maintenance. Exercise is for my endorphins and my mental health, so I make sure that hour of the day is my time for myself before I step in a studio or a rehearsal space or on a shoot.
My workout kit is always comfort first.
I have to feel super comfy. Ready to wear, comfy and sleek. That’s what I like about lululemon, it’s multipurpose. I can go to the gym, then chuck a jacket on top before I go to rehearsal, and it can be used in different ways.
Movement and music go completely hand in hand for me.
If I’m in the gym, I generally listen to house, up-tempo techno or hip-hop. It gets me going. I listen to a lot of J Hus in the gym, also a lot of afro house and afro beats. When I think of movement, it’s dance based and each one fuels each other. I’ll hear a song and instantly know how I’d want to dance or choreograph to the song.
My style is eclectic and comfy.
And very on-the-day. I always decide how I wanna dress, see how I feel on the day and take it from there.
WHEN I THINK OF MOVEMENT, IT’S DANCE BASED AND EACH ONE FUELS EACH OTHER. I’LL HEAR A SONG AND INSTANTLY KNOW HOW I’D WANT TO DANCE OR CHEOGRAPH TO THE SONG
My upbringing has inspired my style…
I’ve got a big, big family and growing up there was loads of different subcultures. I had family that would listen to garage music, family that would listen to rock music. I think it’s all of those influences. And I think growing up and then living somewhere like London, I’m around a lot of creative people so my upbringing, my friends, my circle. I’m looking for inspiration everywhere.
On a rehearsal day…
… I’ll rehearse eight to ten hours, and then [on] a show day I’ll have some time in the day to relax, and then at three or four pm, start getting ready for the show; start preparing, stretching and getting my body ready.
I’M LOOKING FOR INSPIRATION EVERYWHERE

The best part of my job is the people.
And making people smile. It’s a hard job physically, it’s really demanding, but then you have those moments where you might be on stage, and you catch eyes with just one person, and you can see their eyes light up. It’s the people and the places, being able to be transient, move around. See different places and different faces.
Exercise to me is wellbeing.
The thing I enjoy about it is the feeling of giving that time for yourself and prioritizing your wellbeing; mental and physical. That’s the best bit for me, because it makes me feel good and keeps me clear headed.
Everyday is a good day.
Waking up every day is a blessing. Getting back home, relaxing and spending time with my girlfriend is always a blessing. Waking up and being able to do what I love every day. Not everyday is easy but when I look at it, I get to live my life. And I live a pretty cool life. I get to dance most days and bring my ideas to life. Every day is the best day.
WAKING UP EVERYDAY IS A BLESSING.
On a typical evening…
I’m chilling out. Cooking food with my girlfriend, maybe sneak an episode on Netflix or an episode of Succession.
My signature dish is…
Pesto pasta with prawns, or a simple aioli. I love pasta.
I like having separation in my day.
Feeling like, ‘okay I’m at home now’, being able to play a bit of music that’s not based around exercise and dance.
Right now, I’m reading Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain.
I’m obsessed. Me and my girlfriend are obsessed with him, we’ve been watching all his documentaries.
My daily mantra is…
… just have fun. Just keep moving, just have fun.
