Founded by Demna and Guram Gvasalia in 2014, VETEMENTS was named after the French word for "clothing". With Demna's past experience at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts and design work with the Maison Martin Margiela brand, the aim was to take an unorthodox route within high fashion. The contemporary street-wear-inspired designs have reinvented classic staples with slogan-emblazoned Vetements t-shirts, joggers, coats and jackets with striking graphics and logomania caps.
